Police have released new surveillance video images of a man who allegedly stole a cell phone from a University of Maryland student on Sunday.
University Police say the suspect snatched a cell phone out of the student’s hand while walking near McKeldin Library on McKeldin Mall, then fled toward the Chincoteague building. Prior to the robbery, the suspect approached multiple people asking to use their cell phones, authorities say.
The suspect is described as a black male, between 18 and 20 years old, 5’5”-5’9”, and a medium build. He was last seen wearing dark colored sweatpants and a green and gray horizontally stripped hooded sweatshirt.
