Vote to recall ANC commissioner Douglas Smith set
February 28, 2012 - 05:54 am
WASHINGTON (AP) - Approximately 2,000 voters in northwest Washington are eligible to vote in a recall election of a local official.
Tuesday's vote will be held at a police station in the city's Brightwood neighborhood.
Voters are being asked whether Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner Douglas Smith should keep his seat.
Smith says the recall is unfair and that a small group of people are disgruntled about a Wal-Mart planned for the neighborhood.
Smith says he has been trying to represent residents on all sides of the issue.
