The dogs' breeding aspires to be the perfect blend of pulchritude, poise and precision in the hopes to win the most coveted crown in the canine world.

Six new breeds made their debut at the competition among the 2,000 dogs vying for the coveted crown. Those six included:

--The American English Coonhound, a descendant of Virginia hounds.
--The Cesky Terrier, a sturdy dog with a silky gray coat.
--The Entlebucher Mountain dog, a Swiss herding dog prized for its work ethic and devotion to its owner.
--The Finnish Lapphund, a reindeer herder, from the far northern reaches of Scandinavia.
--The Norwegian Lundehund, a retriever from the highest points in Norwegian Arctic.
--The Xoloitzcuintli, a rare hairless breed of dog and the National Dog of Mexico.
