Brandon Meriweather signed to Washington Redskins

The Washington Redskins have signed unrestricted free agent safety Brandon Meriweather, who spent his first four seasons with the New England Patriots.
Meriweather, 28, was originally drafted by the New England Patriots in the first round of the 2007 NFL draft. He has played in 75 regular season games and recorded 293 tackles, 12 interceptions, 29 passes defensed, five forced fumbles and two sacks, the Redskins report.
He was born in Apopka, Fla.
