FREDERICKSBURG, Va. (AP) - Longtime WFLS radio personality Brian Strobel has died after he was hit by a vehicle.
The Free Lance-Star says the 64-year-old Strobel was walking a dog in a subdivision off Harrison Road in Spotsylvania County when the accident occurred at about 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Strobel retired from WFLS at the end of 2007 after 30 years with the Fredericksburg station. He worked a total 40 years in radio.
Spotsylvania County Police say that Strobel was struck by a Nissan pickup truck that left the roadway in the area of Kingswood Boulevard and Harris Mill Court. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
