D.C. Primary: Early voting underway in D.C.
March 31, 2012 - 09:47 am
WASHINGTON (AP) - Elections officials say more than 4,300 people have taken advantage early voting in Washington.
Early voting began March 19 and ends Saturday in the District for the upcoming primary election. Eight voting locations are open from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The locations include community centers and other spaces throughout the city including Columbia Heights Community Center, Turkey Thicket Recreation Center, Chevy Chase Community Center and the Southeast Tennis and Learning Center.
The day of the actual primary is April 3 when 11 contests will be decided. Washington does not have an open primary, so only registered Republicans, Democrats and D.C. Statehood Green party members can take part.
