Dusty Harrison: A boxer overcoming tough upbringing
Dusty Harrison is a young man who comes from a tough neighborhood. He's worked hard, learned from his dad's hard knocks and now strives to prove himself in every stage of his life, removing all limitations on his future.
Dusty, a 17-year-old high school senior, is also a professional boxer. When he’s not working on his 3.0 GPA or at basketball practice, he's at his dad's gym.
Buddy Harrison is Dusty's father, trainer and manager. He taught him to box and take care of himself.
But it didn't take long to realize that Dusty was a ringer.
But the family has some hard times in its past. Busty spent 10 years in prison for armed robbery. But almost 18 years later, Buddy's son is proving to be one for the ages.
He's 3-and-0 as a pro and heading into Saturday's card at the Convention Center, where Dusty will be the “main event.”
