Explosive device found in Franconia home

An explosive device was found inside a vacant home for sale in Franconia.
Police say the device was discovered by a cleaning crew at the home in the 6500 block of Gildar Street around 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
The device, described as an unusual looking box with tape and wires, was later removed by the Explosives Ordinance Unit and deemed safe.
The investigation is ongoing.
