FBI raids offices of D.C. campaign financier, PR consultant
The FBI has raided the offices of Jeffrey Thompson, a prominent figure who has helped finance campaigns of a number of D.C. politicians, and Jeanne Harris, a public relations consultant, ABC7 News has confirmed.
Thompson has been involved in financing the campaigns of Mayor Vincent Gray, D.C. Council Chairman Kwame Brown, and former Mayor Adrian Fenty. There was no word on whether or not the investigation is connected in any way to Gray, Brown, or Fenty.
ABC7's Sam Ford asked for more information from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia.
By email, Bill Miller, a spokesperson said, "Law enforcement activities were conducted today as part of an ongoing investigation. We can confirm that there were no arrests today and that no charges have been filed as of this time."
The spokesperson declined to comment further due to the ongoing nature of the investigation.
