Georgetown mascot, Jack the Bulldog is injured
WATCH: ABC7's Stephen Tschida has an update on Jack the Bulldog.
Father Christopher Steck, who is the keeper of the bulldog, tweeted on Monday that Jack the Bulldog, 8, is injured.
"Dang... Jack has torn his dog "ACL"! Surgery probably; 2 mo. recovery. Happened Sunday; likely from jumping on couch. He's limping badly," Steck tweeted.
Jack would not have attended the upcoming Columbus game anyway due to its distance. But at the Selection Sunday festivities this week, he had to be carried around, according the Washington Post.
Steck later tweeted "Meeting with a canine orthopedic surgeon on Wednesday to figure out what next. "
"The little fella just needs some rest," a Georgetown athletics department spokesman, Mex Carey told Dan Steinberg of the Washington Post.
