Glen Burnie fire truck crash injures four firefighters
GLEN BURNIE, Md. (AP) - Authorities in Anne Arundel County say four firefighters and three civilians were injured when a fire rescue vehicle responding to a blaze in Glen Burnie hit a car.
Anne Arundel County fire officials say the accident happened Wednesday evening on Ritchie Highway.
All the people involved in the crash sustained minor injuries.
The firefighters were headed to a fire at Pinewood East Senior Living Facility.
Other firefighters who responded evacuated the building and were able to put out the fire in 20 minutes.
One man was found with second and third-degree burns over 70 percent of his body.
That man was taken to the hospital with critical injuries. No one else was hurt at the senior center.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
