Google tablet store in the works, report says
Google is getting ready to go head-on with Apple in the tablet computer game, Reuters and the Wall Street Journal report.
In an attempt to gain market share on Apple's wildly popular iPad, which just recently released its third and latest iteration, Google will reportedly sell Samsung and Asus tablet computers directly from a new online store, Reuters says.
The report cites the Wall Street Journal, as written by Amir Erfati, which says that the company will sell co-branded tablets in an attempt to boost sales of devices which run Google's Android operating system.
There is no word as to when the store will launch, the Wall Street Journal says.
Apple says that it sold three million New iPads in the first three days after it was released on March 16, but has not released sales numbers since.
