JonBenet Ramsey's father: not a good idea to put child on display
DENVER (AP) - The father of slain child beauty pageant contestant JonBenet Ramsey says he now believes it's not a good idea to put your child on public display.
John Ramsey tells ABC News he remembers his daughter appearing in a Christmas parade days before the 6-year-old was found strangled in the family's home in Boulder, Colo., in 1996. He says his mother-in-law later told him a strange man had approached the car that was carrying JonBenet during the parade, and it made her uncomfortable.
Ramsey, who is promoting his new book, says thinking about those things now makes him cringe.
Police haven't found JonBenet's killer. At one point investigators, said her parents were under suspicion, but prosecutors have cleared them.
JonBenet's mother, Patsy Ramsey, died of ovarian cancer in 2006.
