A 45-year-old D.C. woman accused of illegally injecting women with liquid silicone as a way to achieve a fuller behind has pleaded guilty in connection with the case.

Kimberly Smedley pleaded guilty Wednesday to conspiring to introduce and deliver into interstate commerce an adulterated and misbranded device.

"Kimberly Smedley endangered her customers' lives by injecting them with commercial silicone, causing at least one victim to suffer lung damage from a substance not approved by the Food and Drug Administration," said U.S. Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein in a statement. "No one should undergo medical procedures in a hotel room."

Authorities said Smedley gave injections to customers in Baltimore, Washington D.C., Detroit, New York City, Philadelphia and elsewhere. Customers paid her between $500 and $1,600 in cash for each session.

Smedley received over $200,000 in cash for administering illegal silicone injections.

She is not a licensed medical practitioner and the silicone is not approved by FDA for this purpose.
