Kirk Cameron on gay marriage: 'It's detrimental'
Just days after Maryland became the 8th state in the nation, along with the District of Columbia, to legalize same-sex marriage, Kirk Cameron went on the offensive against it on CNN's Piers Morgan Tonight.
During his appearance on the talk show on Friday night, Cameron, who is a Born-Again Christian and evangelizes his faith through his ministry, The Way of the Master, Cameron said that gay marriage was "unnatural" and "destructive."
"I think that it's detrimental," Cameron told Morgan on CNN, "and ultimately destructive to so many of the foundations of civilization."
Cameron, who is best known for his role as Mike Seaver on the 1980s sitcom Growing Pains, went on to tell Morgan that he firmly believed that marriage was meant to be between one man and one woman.
