Lamont Stafford charged with having sex with patient
HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) - A nursing-home patient in Hagerstown is charged with second-degree rape for allegedly assaulting an 89-year-old female patient.
Thirty-eight-year-old Lamont Stafford of Bowie was being held Tuesday on $100,000 bond in connection with the incident Friday at NMS Healthcare.
The Herald-Mail of Hagerstown reports that the nursing director told police a staff member found Stafford on top of the woman in her room.
According to police, when the nursing director asked Stafford about the incident, he said he "just had to have sex."
The nursing director says Stafford had been at the facility for five days. She says his records indicate he is able to distinguish between right and wrong - even though he allegedly identified himself to police as Jesus Christ. Court records say the victim has dementia.
