MPD officers are on the hunt for a suspect in the attempted abduction of a young girl early Monday morning.

Authorities say that the abduction attempt happened near the intersection of 62nd Street and Banks Place NE, very close to the northeast boundary of Washington. The victim, an 11-year-old girl, was not injured, police say.

Detectives are looking for the suspect, who is described as a black male wearing glasses, a white tank top and bedroom slippers.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
