DOVER, Del. (AP) - A sixth-grader who faced possible disciplinary action for coming to school with pink hair is back in class, with her pink hair intact.

Officials at Shue-Medill Middle School in Newark told 12-year-old Brianna Moore last week that her dyed hair violated the school's uniform policy.

She was told she could return to her regular classes if she agreed on a plan to change back to her natural hair color, but that she faced in-school suspension if she kept her pink hair.

But Christina School District officials said Moore returned to her regular classes Tuesday and would face no discipline, despite the violation of school policy.

An attorney for the district confirmed in an email to the state chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union that Moore would not be disciplined.
