Redskins contemplate moving training camp to Richmond
"I absolutely think that would be a slap in the face."
Some DC residents have never gotten over the Redskins moving to Maryland for regular season games...so the thought of them moving training camp completely out of the DC area doesn't sit well.
"I think it would certainly be an issue for a lot of the fans who already spend money to go out to Maryland, Landover...we're not going to Richmond."
"Leesburg is far enough. Richmond that's too far of a drive."
But Redskins higher ups were in Virginia's capital city today looking at the possibility of moving training camp there.
Not everyone would mind.
"Cause it's closer to where I live. I live in Stafford, so coming all the way to DC would kind of be stupid for me."
"It would be wonderful to have the Washington Redskins back..."
Today's news comes at a time when the city is trying to lure the Skins back to DC for training camp, possibly to a site near RFK Stadium.
Most we talked to would much prefer that.
"You're the Washington Redskins, not the Richmond Redskins, the Washington Redskins. Come home."
