Rickey Pharr guilty of killing Angelo Jones
March 1, 2012 - 12:28 pm
WASHINGTON (AP) - A District of Columbia man has been convicted of killing another man after an argument that began during a dice game.
A Superior Court jury on Wednesday found Rickey Pharr guilty of first-degree premeditated murder while armed.
He faces a minimum of 35 years in prison at his sentencing in April. Prosecutors say the 28-year-old Pharr shot Angelo Jones repeatedly in October 2010.
The two got into an argument after Pharr accused Jones of being a government informant. Pharr left the area and returned with a gun, shooting Jones a half dozen times.
Prosecutors say he then enlisted his friends to provide false alibis to the police and to his lawyer.
