Riverdale kidnapping suspect sought
Prince George’s County Police are looking for one of two suspects accused of kidnapping a man in Riverdale.
Around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday night, police say a man, on his way home from work, was in his driveway in the 5200 block of 59th Avenue, when two armed men approached him and demanded money.
As the suspects forced the man into an SUV, the victim’s wife was watching from a window and called police.
The suspects drove to an ATM on Kenilworth Avenue and made the victim withdraw cash.
When police responded to the scene, a short chase ensued. Authorities say the suspect crashed into a parked car then fled on foot while shooting at police.
A K-9 unit help locate one of the suspect early Wednesday morning, but the other remains on the loose.
Police say the victim is safe and no injuries were reported.
Officers recovered a gun used by the suspects.
Authorities say robbery was the motive.
An investigation is ongoing.
