WATCH: ABC7's Horace Holmes has the story on the expected delays on Metro caused by track work and all the events going on this weekend that will make it worse.
The closure of the Shady Grove Station highlights a weekend of Metro track work that will cause delays on all five lines.
Shuttle buses will replace trains between Shady Grove and Rockville starting at 10 p.m. Friday. Trains on the Red Line will operate between Rockville and Glenmont every 10 minutes between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, but riders are encouraged to add 15 minutes to their travel time.
Track work is also being done on the:
-Orange Line, between West and East Falls Church
-Blue Line, between Stadium-Armory and Addison Road-Seat Pleasant
-Green Line, between Fort Totten and Prince George's Plaza
Metro will open at 6 a.m. on Saturday to accommodate participants and spectators in the Rock 'n' Roll USA Marathon and Half-Marathon.
