CSX train hits tow truck removing stuck Lexus from tracks
March 18, 2012 - 05:27 pm
RIVERDALE PARK, Md. (AP) - Authorities say no one was injured when a CSX freight train struck a tow truck that was in the midst of pulling a car off the tracks in Riverdale Park.
It happened around 8:45 p.m. Saturday. Riverdale Park police say they called a tow truck to get a stuck Lexus off the tracks.
But before the car could be removed, both vehicles were hit by the train.
Nobody was in either vehicle at the time.
It's not clear whether the train's operator had been warned about the cars on the track.
Police say the driver of the Lexus was arrested for driving under the influence.
