ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) - Fire officials say they are investigating a two-alarm house fire in Alexandria in which a woman suffered smoke inhalation.
Officials say the Alexandria Fire Department responded to the fire in the 1100 block of Palmer Place about 10:15 p.m. Sunday.
Firefighters, assisted by the Arlington and Fairfax county fire departments, brought the blaze under control in about an hour.
Two occupants were alerted to the fire by smoke detectors and escaped from the home.
Officials say a 19-year-old woman was treated for smoke inhalation at a hospital. The cause and origin of the fire are under investigation.
