De facto Standard, the new MacBook fragrance
There’s a new way to keep that new laptop smell with you forever and it’ll only cost you $1,199 bucks.
Australian artists have recreated the scent of a newly opened Macbook. The fragrance is called De facto Standard.
Brett Molina of USA Today writes in an article that the three artists were planning an art exhibit and came up with the idea for the scent. They reached out to an Australia-based company, Air Aroma, who manufactured the smell.
"The scent ... encompasses the smell of the plastic wrap covering the box, printed ink on the cardboard, the smell of paper and plastic components within the box and of course the aluminum laptop which has come straight from the factory where it was assembled in China," says Alex Cosic of Air Aroma in the post on the company’s blog.
To enjoy the scent, you’re going to have to buy a MacBook Pro, which retails at $1,1999, as De facto Standard is not for sale.
