Five killed in Prince George's weekend violence
Investigators are searching for suspects after eight people were shot during a violent weekend in Prince George’s County. In all, five people were killed in the county.
Between Friday night at about 10 p.m. and Sunday morning, eight people were shot in Prince George’s County in four separate incidents, police said.
One man, 19 year-old Lester Amilcar Flores-Quintanilla of Alexandria, Va., was killed around 1 a.m. in the 2000 block of Woodberry Street in Lewisdale, Md., police said.
Another man was killed in the 2700 block of Judith Avenue in District Heights, Md., at 8:19 a.m. Sunday. A second man was shot in the same shooting but survived.
The woman was fatally shot around 9:30 p.m. in the 3500 block of Terrace Drive in the Suitland/Silver Hill area. Another woman was shot in the leg and wounded nearby. Police said the attacks may be related.
Eighteen-year-old Brandon Lee Wiggins of Capitol Heights, Md., was killed at approximately 1 a.m. in Landover on Saturday.
Patrol officers located Wiggins in the 1600 block of Brightseat Road. The preliminary police investigation revealed that Wiggins was involved in a gun battle with another individual during what police believe was a robbery attempt.
Three men were shot about 10 p.m. Friday in the 6700 Northwest Drive in Adelphi.
Police also reported that an arrest has been made in the death of a woman who was killed by her granddaughter in the 4100 block of Danville Rd in Accokeek, Md., Sunday. The Prince George's County Police Department's homicide unit arrested 32-year-old Cristalina Suzanne Warner in connection with the murder of 83-year-old Dorothy McKay Ogden Monday.
