Joseph Denard Southall shot, killed on Edgewood Street

A suspect is being sought in the fatal shooting of a man in Northeast D.C. early Sunday morning, police say.

MPD officials confirm that a man was found shot in the face at about 12:30 a.m. in the 600 block of Edgewood Street NE. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Monday, authorities identified the victim as Joseph Denard Southall.

No further information could be provided about a suspect or a motive in the shooting. Police say an investigation into the incident continues.
