A Fairfax County neighborhood is on alert Wednesday night as county authorities step up their search for the suspect in a series of indecent exposures that started last summer.

Police say the incidents are happening along a trail in Cub Run Stream Valley Park in Centreville. The victims, ranging between 3 and 50 years old, encountered the suspects while walking along the trail between March 2011 and March 2012.

One of the victims of the suspected flasher is Lisa, who believes she and her two children had a close call with the man on the two-and-a-half mile trail. She asked that he last name not be used.

"My daughter and I both saw a man standing there on the path a good ways in front of us," Lisa said. "It looked like, when he saw us, he jumped into the woods."

The suspects are described as possibly white men with a light to medium complexion. They are said to be about 5'7" to 6'2" tall and weighing between 150 to 200 pounds.Lisa, whose friend was another victim of the flasher, says she's now incensed that she has to explain to her 8-year-old daughter what this man or men are doing.

"I am furious I even had to explain what that was...she doesn't need to know what that is," she said.

Each of the incidents occurred between Cub Stream Drive and Cranoke Street:

- March 1, 2011, near Cub Stream Drive around 3:30 p.m.
- May 26, 2011, near Sully Park Drive around 3:52 p.m.
- June 5, 2011, near Weatherburn Drive around 1:30 a.m.
- July 16, 2011, near Deer Pond Court around 12:15 p.m.
- July 27, 2011, near Stone Crossing Court around 3:30 p.m.
- Sept. 5, 2011, in Cub Run Stream Valley Park around 9:30 a.m.
- Nov. 19, 2011, in Cub Run Stream Valley Park around 11:48 a.m.
- Jan. 7, 2012, near Cub Stream Drive around 10:50 a.m.
- March 14, 2012 near Cranoke Street around 1:30 p.m.

Fairfax County Police have canvassed the area with fliers warning of the suspect, and it has residents in the nearby neighborhood off Sully Park Drive taking extra caution.

"It's creeping me out," resident Julie Smallwood said. "I have a young child and I don’t like being out on the trails anymore.
