Gas prices at all time highs ahead of the holiday weekend
A North Carolina family is traveling up to New Jersey to visit relatives—a trip that will cost them more than $300 in gas alone on this busy holiday weekend.
It seems everyone is pinching pennies at the pump.
D.C. resident Rodney Savoy drives to Virginia to fill up, where gas is 12 cents cheaper than in his neighborhood.
“It's just too much, too much. You go to work every day and your paycheck doesn't change but everything else in the economy is changing...including gas,” Savoy said.
Thursday, the average cost for a gallon of gas in Maryland topped four dollars and in D.C., the average price for regular gas is two cents away from breaking the all-time record of four dollars and 21 cents set last May.
But, AAA says people in our area haven't stopped filling up.
