Howard University students reinstated
Howard University students who were declared ineligible to compete by the school have been reinstated.
All spring sports teams can now compete as scheduled for the remainder of the season, the university stated.
"The University continues to work diligently to complete our review," the university stated.
Some athletes have been temporarily withheld from competing while the school conducts an internal investigation into potential NCAA violations.
A Howard bowling team athlete told City Paper that the school allowed students to spend leftover money from textbook vouchers on non-textbook items.
Howard is now demanding that any improperly spent money must be returned and student athletes can’t register for classes until they repay it, according to City Paper.
