James Lee Sherrod, 22, killed in Northeast shooting
A 22-year-old man was shot and killed in a small neighborhood just west of Kenilworth Avenue in Northeast D.C. on Saturday afternoon, and D.C. police are searching for the person or people behind the trigger.
The shooting happened at about 1:40 p.m. Saturday in the 700 block of Kenilworth Terrace NE, one block west of D.C. 295. Officers in the area responded to the sound of gunfire to find James Ray Sherrod, a Northeast D.C. resident, wounded by gunfire.
Police say Sherrod was taken to an area hospital where he ultimately died from his injuries.
