Loudoun car crash kills Maryland woman

A Maryland woman was killed in a Saturday morning crash on Route 15, Virginia State Police confirmed.
Barbara Whitener, 27, of Olney, Md. was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck when it crossed the center line of northbound Route 15 and hit a southbound tractor-trailer in its driver's side fuel tank.
Whitener, who was not wearing a seat belt, died at the scene, police said.
The driver of the tractor-trailer, Richard Poole of Zebulon, N.C., was treated for minor injuries, police reported.
