Malachi Hargrove arrested for allegedly killing Osman Al-Akbar
Authorities have arrested a third person in connection with the shooting death of a 19-year-old man who was slain on Aug. 17 in NW D.C.
MPD announced Tuesday that they arrested 18-year-old Malachi Hansan Hargrove of Northeast. Hangrove turned himself in to police.
He is not facing first degree murder charges in connection with the killing of Osman Al-Akbar.
Police found Al-Akbar suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the 2600 block of University Place in Northwest about 1:39 a.m. on August 17. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A short while later, officers stopped two suspects, Rashid Caviness-Bey, 19, of Northwest and a 15-year old male of Capitol Heights, in connection with the murder.
Both were charged with first degree felony murder while armed and carrying a pistol without a license.
