Man arrested in Manassas abduction, assault

A man has been arrested in an abduction and assault that occurred earlier this week in Manassas, Va., according to police.

Manassas City Police responded to an abduction and assault on the evening of April 22.
The man, Yohalmo Emmanuel Shupan-Penate, was placed under arrest and charged with abduction and malicious wounding. He is being held at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center with no bond. His court date has been set for June 5, 2012.
The victim told officers that Shupan-Penate assaulted and held her against her will.
