Man shot, killed by police in Gambrills
Anne Arundel County Police on Saturday confirmed that Gary Petrie was killed following an altercation with a member of the police force.
The Police Department responded to a 911 call of domestic assault in Gambrills in Anne Arundel County, Md. on Friday evening. Officers said they reported hearing a female screaming inside the home when they arrived at the residence.
The officer encountered Petrie once he was in the home. Following a physical altercation between the officer and Petrie, the officer shot Petrie.
Petrie died as a result of his injuries.
The female from the residence was taken to the Baltimore Washington Medical Center, with non-life threatening injuries, as a result of the alleged domestic assault.
The officer was identified as Timothy Peek, a four-year veteran.
