Teen hit by MARC train at Glenmont station

Montgomery County police say a 17-year-old boy who was struck by a MARC train was listening to music on headphones and did not hear the train approaching.
The incident occurred near the Washington Grove MARC Station in Gaithersburg, Md. around 8:30 a.m. Friday.
The victim, described as a Hispanic male, suffered injuries to his arm. Police say he was conscious and alert when as he was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Authorities say the boy was walking on the tracks toward Bladensburg when his arm was clipped by the train. They say the conductor noticed the child and sounded his horn as a warning, but the victim did not hear it.
