Free dog heart health screenings offered in Hyattsville
The Mobile Dog Heart Health Tour will make a stop in Hyattsville, Md. Thursday, where veterinary cardiologists will provide free heart health screenings and health advice to pet owners.
The event is open to the public and will take place at Heurich Park, located in the 2800 block of Nicholson Street at Acre Road, between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Dr. Steven Rosenthal, a veterinary cardiologist at Chesapeake Veterinary Cardiology Associates, will use a stethoscope to listen for heart murmurs and other irregular sounds as well as generally assess whether or not the dogs show any signs of heart disease.
Rosenthal stopped by ABC7’s Good Morning Washington to explain how this serious problem is affecting a significant number of dogs.
