Stephanie Schwab pleads guilty
A Virginia woman dubbed the “blonde bandit” after she allegedly went on a crime spree has pleaded guilty to multiple crimes, including bank robberies, carjackings and drug dealing.
Stephanie Schwab , 26, was arrested Nov. 30 after a chase on the Capital Beltway, following a two-week crime spree.
“Stephanie Schwab learned the hard way that crime doesn’t pay,” said U.S. Attorney Neil MacBride. “Her notorious crime spree was put to an end because of incredible coordination among law enforcement. Today, she took responsibility for the terror she instilled in bank employees and residents throughout the D.C.-metro area.”
Schwab previously spent time in the Witness Protection Program after testifying at a high-profile murder trial in 2005 involving the MS-13 street gang.
Schwab robbed or attempted to rob three local banks and claimed to have a gun, authorities say. She also admitted that she was involved in a heroin trafficking rink that transported heroin from New York and D.C. to Manassas, authorities say.
