Trayvon Martin's mom says Fla. shooting was an accident
MIAMI (AP) - The mother of an unarmed teen killed by a Florida neighborhood watch volunteer is saying she thinks the shooting was an accident.
Sybrina Fulton was interviewed on NBC's "Today" show on Thursday after the shooter, George Zimmerman, was charged with second-degree murder in the February death of Trayvon Martin.
Martin's mother and other members of his family had campaigned for Zimmerman to be arrested and charged.
She was asked on 'Today" what she would say if could talk to Zimmerman face to face.
Fulton said she thought a person should apologize if they are remorseful.
Then she said she believed it was an accident and things got out of control.
She did not say more about how she thinks the shooting happened.
