Western Md. Dems rally in support of candidates

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) - Maryland Democrats are scheduled to rally in support of President Barack Obama and other candidates at the Weinberg Center for the Arts.

Ben Cardin is Democratic U.S. Senator from Maryland.

The rally will bring western Maryland Democrats together Saturday in support of Obama, U.S. Sen. Ben Cardin, Rep. Chris Van Hollen and 6th Congressional District candidate John Delaney.

The incumbents are running to hold their seats in the November 2012 election.

Delaney was nominated in the April primary to challenge sitting Republican Rep. Roscoe Bartlett, a Frederick County scientist turned farmer who has held the seat for two decades.
