GOTYE: Good profile of the fast-rising group, per Rolling Stone, "Somebody That I Used to Know" has been in the Top Five on Billboard's Hot 100 for weeks. Its video has earned a startling 190 million YouTube views, not to mention tweets from Ashton Kutcher and Katy Perry. But Gotye – pronounced "go-ti-ay" – is a strange, manifestly 21st-century sort of star: huge on Web browsers and radio dials and Glee, but unlikely to be recognized on the street.” http://bit.ly/J3aF5q

MICK: Live from New York. . .per The Hollywood Reporter, “Jagger's appearance will mark the rocker's first time leading the late-night NBC comedy show and will be his third time as the musical guest. Last December, during Jimmy Fallon's SNL episode, Jagger made a cameo in one of the skits as Fallon's reflection.” http://bit.ly/IMEQtA

MORK: He pulls a Bryce Harper, per TMZ, “Cool thing happened in Hollywood last night ... when Robin Williams dropped by a small comedy club on Sunset Blvd. unannounced ... and asked if he could perform. It all went down at a place called Meltdown Comics -- which hosts a small comedy event every Wednesday night. We're told Robin walked in ... grabbed the mic ... and busted out a set for roughly an hour. Sources at the show tell us ... Robin KILLED IT.” http://bit.ly/Kxq3E4

HERE IT COMES: Of “The Avengers,” per the AP, “The summer movie season opens with a blast Friday as Disney's much-anticipated, $220 million "The Avengers" storms onto more than 4,000 domestic screens with expectations that it could earn between $150 million and $170 million in its first weekend. The record is held by last year's "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" at $169.2 million.” http://apne.ws/JhcHMR

AND A REVIEW: Grudging respect, per the Los Angeles Times, “Even if you're frustrated by the relentless calculation of Marvel Studios' plan for world cinema domination, fed up by the shameless way the studio used several of its earlier, at times pro forma superhero movies to promote this one, even if you don't particularly like comic-book adaptations, this film just might make a believer of you.” http://lat.ms/JumLAe

JEWEL AS JUNE: Makes sense, per Deadline Hollywood, “Lifetime has greenlighted The June Carter Cash Story, an original movie starring singer Jewel as the country icon. Matt Ross (American Horror Story) is set to play music legend Johnny Cash, Carter Cash’s husband.” http://bit.ly/KtgyVO

NO SURPRISE: She just keeps on stomping, per PerezHilton, “Adele's incredible second album, 21, has pretty much taken over the world, and now, has surpassed Michael Jackson's Thriller on the UK's biggest selling albums list with 4,274,300 copies sold - 500 more than the late king of pop's 1982 classic.” http://bit.ly/KYKmPj

DON WAS: The music legend first heard of Blue Note in 1966 while cruising in a car, and now. . .per the New York Times, “That spark of a relationship between listener and label bloomed into a steady flame for Mr. Was, who at 59 is the president of Blue Note, with a full plate of new developments to his credit. It’s still early, but his energetic stewardship could be just what’s needed at a time of corporate transition for the label, in a difficult industry climate.” http://nyti.ms/IZ2YeW

NEW DIGS: Across the pond, per Radar, “Brad Pitt and fiancee Angelina Jolie have plunked down $16 million for a Richmond, West London mansion called Whornes Place.” http://bit.ly/IIdKsB

YOU BETCHA: Geez. Just. . .geez, per People, “Levi Johnston, an avid hunter whose girlfriend Sunny Oglesby is five months' pregnant with their daughter, plans to name the baby "Breeze Beretta" after the Italian handgun, the couple tell Inside Edition. Johnston, 21, also has 3-year-old son Tripp with ex- fiancé Bristol Palin.” http://bit.ly/IGYDkt
