23 pounds of marijuana seized in Suitland
May 5, 2012 - 07:39 am
An initiative to clean up crime in parts of Prince George's County led to the recovery of over 23 pounds of marijuana.
Officers also found more than $4,000 in cash and ammunition in Friday's search of an apartment in the 3500 block of Parkway Terrace Drive.
Police say they arrested and charged 28-year-old Leon Flythe with felony possession with the intent to distribute large amounts of marijuana and other drug charges. The known gang member is being held on a $60,000 bond, police add.
Suitland is one of the six neighborhoods being targeted by the Transforming Neighborhoods Initiative.
