Barry's Magic Shop closes doors
For more than 35 years, Barry Taylor has run "Barry's Magic Shop".
But, it's not just a store, it's a hangout.
Customer Drew Owen says, "There's really no other place like it."
But now, the fantasy is clashing with reality. Internet sales and financial pressure is forcing Taylor and his wife to close their doors.
"This has been a labor of love, you know, you're not going to get rich selling magic," Taylor says.
While Taylor says he's always loved the business side of magic, performing has always been his true passion.
Taylor adds, "I've made my money as a performer mainly. It's fun because you're amazing people, and they're going, 'Wow!'"
He's performed for celebrities, like Quincy Jones and Andrea Boccelli and says this isn't his final act.
"I'll still be performing. I'll never lose my love for magic," Taylor explains.
When the shop finally closes in July, Taylor will have just two words for this part of his journey.
"Bon voyage!," Taylor exclaims.
