NOVA Woodbridge bomb threat forces campus evacuation
May 8, 2012 - 12:51 pm
The Northern Virginia Community College Woodbridge Campus has been completely evacuated due to a bomb threat, Prince William County Police said Tuesday.
Police got a call from a school employee who received a threat that came in through a school phone line.
The bomb was reported to be in the lake area near the main school building on the 109-acre campus, police said. A school official said that the school's final exam week concluded on Monday.
The campus has been evacuated of students, teachers and staff. A Virginia State Police bomb dog has been called to check the surrounding area and buildings.
Nearby Freedom High School has not been affected at this time and remains open, police said.
