The Prince William County mother who helped trap three of her young children in a bedroom with drywall was sentenced to nine years in prison on Thursday, the Washington Post reports.

Christina Moore of Bristow will serve less than six more months in prison, though, after a judge suspended 7 1/2 years of the sentence and factored in the time she has already served.

The three girls, including an 18-month-old, were found last March left alone in a filthy room barricaded with drywall. Moore and the father of the children, 35-year-old John Robey, had been charged with child abuse.

The oldest girl used mattresses to climb over the drywall and got a neighbor to help her sisters.

A neighbor found Moore and Robey passed out, and defense lawyers said they were struggling at the time with a severe drug addiction.

Robey was sentenced in January to three years of probation and ordered to complete an intensive outpatient drug program.
