D.C. Council gives preliminary approval to 2013 budget

The D.C. Council gave preliminary approval to the city’s 2013 budget.
The nine-billion dollar spending plan includes an expansion of the District’s traffic camera enforcement program and allows bars to stay open an hour later on holidays.
The budget proposal is likely to be modified slightly before a final vote in June.
