District Heights officer shoots into SUV that rammed his vehicle
CAPITOL HEIGHTS, Md. (AP) - Prince George's County police say an off-duty District Heights officer fired on an SUV that rammed his vehicle and tried to hit him.
Police say the officer moonlighting at a Capitol Heights nightclub early Saturday followed a green SUV he saw hit a car in a parking lot, but the SUV then rammed his vehicle several times, disabling it.
When the officer got out and ordered the driver out of the SUV, police say the driver tried to run over the officer and he fired several shots into the vehicle. The SUV fled into Washington, D.C., and it's not known if the driver was injured.
The officer was not injured, but police say they are still looking for the SUV.
