FREDERICK, Md. (AP/ABC7) - The Occupy Frederick group says it plans a number of events in Frederick next week linked to the meeting at nearby Camp David of leaders of the Group of Eight leading industrialized nations.

Demonstrators plan a "people's summit" at the downtown C. Burr Artz Public Library on May 18, the first day of the meeting at Camp David.

Occupy Frederick protesters spent about a week camping out in tents along Carroll Creek Linear Park in conjunction with the Occupy Wall Street protests in New York, Washington, and across the country.

But some city officials want to make sure they don't camp out overnight this time, so tonight Frederick city aldermen are expected to vote to pass a camping ban at all city parks.

If it passes the ban will go into effect just days before the G-8 summit.

On May 19, the day the Camp David summit concludes, the group will hold a march in downtown Frederick and a rally at Baker Park.

Frederick is about 18 miles south of Camp David.
