In a presidential campaign where the rhetoric being dished out by each candidate has been passionate and sometimes inflammatory, a Virginia Republican organization is adding more fuel to the fire.

In the March 2012 edition of a newsletter put out by the Republican Party of Greene County, an editorial calls for an 'armed revolution' if President Barack Obama wins reelection this November.

The editorial, written by Ponch McPhee, from the Greene County organization calls this year's election a challenge to "remove an ideologue unlike anything world history has ever witnessed."

"We shall not have any coarse (sic) but armed revolution should we fail with the power of the vote in November," the editorial says. "This Republic cannot survive for 4 more years underneath this political socialist ideologue."

While you'll find plenty of people in Greene County who don't like President Obama's policies, it's hard to find anyone willing to join an insurrection.

Roger Schweikert, a member of the Greene County Republican Committee, said, "I'm not advocating a revolution of that type, but I am advocating for change."

Greene County, which sits on the eastern side of Shenandoah National Park, has a population of just more than 18,000, according to the 2010 census.

John McCain won Greene County by a wide margin during the 2008 election, defeating Barack Obama by nearly 22 percentage points.

A spokesperson for Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell, (R), said while the governor respectfully disagrees with Obama on many policy issues, the rhetoric in the Greene County newsletter is uncalled for and unacceptable.

The author of the "armed revolution" comment was not available for comment.
