Philip Green, Jr., Shannon Donley, killed in Leesburg crash
UPDATE: The second driver involved in the crash on May 2, 2012 did not survive, Leesburg Police said.
Shannon C. Donley, age 48, of Shepherdstown, West Virginia, died due to his injuries sustained in the crash that occurred on the Leesburg Bypass. Family members of Donley notified the department of his death.
The crash occurred on May 2nd, 2012 at 1:06: PM on the Leesburg Bypass between the South King Street entrance ramp and the Dulles Greenway (Route 267) entrance ramp. Police are asking anyone who witnessed a fatal Leesburg crash to come forward.
According to investigators, 27-year-old Phillip Green, Jr.'s black, 2006 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling westbound on the Leesburg Bypass when it crossed over the median and into the eastbound lanes. The Malibu struck a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck and flipped over.
Green, of Winchester, Va., died at the scene.
Donley, who was the driver of the pick-up truck, was flown to Fairfax Inova Hospital after the accident.
Police say they received multiple 911 calls about the May 2 accident, which happened at 1:06 p.m.
